African striped mouse medial preoptic parental behavior
Rhabdomys pumilio · Preoptic area · snRNA-seq
Selected data and study scope
This dataset contains snRNA-seq data from Rhabdomys pumilio, sampled from preoptic area. The default comparison examines gene expression in Naive alloparental males relative to Naive control males.
The explorer includes 1 track and 4 comparisons for this dataset.
The default track, Medial preoptic nuclei, includes 3 Naive control males samples and 3 Naive alloparental males samples in this comparison. These are analysis sample counts. Check the source for biological replication and pooling.
Interpretation and limitations
The source assay profiles nuclei. Check the population track and its retained sample count to see which analysis each result describes.
Expression values are CPM (TMM-normalized): counts per million on library sizes adjusted by the TMM factors of the study’s own edgeR fit. This scale adjusts for library size and composition, not gene length. Use it to inspect a feature across the samples in this analysis. CPM values are not absolute transcript counts.
Evidence and verification
Pipeline QC review needed. African striped mouse medial preoptic parental behavior; all 1 registered tracks and 4 comparisons
Experimental design review needed. African striped mouse medial preoptic parental behavior; all 1 registered tracks and 4 comparisons
Author concordance not assessed. Author effect concordance has not been assessed
Pipeline QC can pass while experimental-design limitations remain. Read both assessments before interpreting results.
Open the dataset in the Explorer to read each check and its evidence. Author concordance compares effects for matched genes. It does not require identical author P values or FDR.

Source study
African striped mouse medial preoptic snRNA-seq: three naive control, three alloparental and three infanticidal males, four sires and four dams. One animal per source object. The source study aligned reads to the Rhabdomys pumilio genome; the retained processing used mouse annotation and pathway references, whose cross-species mapping requires review. Dam-versus-sire differences combine sex and parental-role differences, and the dams and sires are mating pairs whose pairing is absent from the current model (Nature 2026, PMID 41708861; GSE314184).
The original study authors produced these data. HypoExplorer displays selected data and analyses that may cover only part of the study.

Positive differential-expression values indicate higher expression in the case group relative to the baseline. Check the comparison direction and study design when interpreting results.
